Rose Marie Pannone - 1972-2004 Eulogy

Rose Pannone Eulogy Monday February 2, 2004,
at Yalesville Funeral Home, Wallingford Connecticut,
by Joe Pannone (Rose's Brother)

Today is the saddest day in my life so far. Today I am saying good-bye to a sister and the god-mother of my daughter.

Today our family has one less member. Rose has gone and we'll never be the same again. She has left us though a legacy of happy memories.

Rose was very generous and like most generous people she hadn't much to give, but she gave it freely.

Do not look for me when I'm gone, for there will never be another me...Look no further but into your heart, for I am, and will always be there... - AnonymousOf course everyone who knows someone, sees someone differently. One person might know Rose as a colleague, another only as a neighbor. In our family we also saw her as a loving mother.

To everyone though she was lively and full of fun, and your presence here proves how much she meant to so many different people.

She always wanted to explore new places and meet new people. She made friends everywhere she went. Obviously she had friends here too. Your support and kindness have helped us greatly in this sorrowful time. Her family especially appreciate your kindness.

Rose was a person who brought life and laughter with her. I know you all understand exactly what I mean when I say that a bright light has been extinguished in our lives. Still I know she would be the very one to tell us not to mourn, that there was too much living to do. We'll do it, of course, but it won't be the same without her cheery smile and her vitality.

Rose was a wonderful sister. I'll miss her in a million different ways, we all will. It's funny isn't it how one quiet person can have so much influence, can leave such a gap in our lives? All we have to fill that gap now is the thought of all she meant in our lives.

As a sister she was loving and helpful. She was very generous and always wanted to share her last penny. Nobody enjoyed a night out more than Rose.

Jeff Chasman (Chaseman Hardware, owner who was on Rose's UPS route) “God gave her 31 years to make a difference, and she did”
